About this job
We are looking for a copywriter editor, for a temporary assignment, who is a versatile professional that can combine persuasive writing skills with an expert eye for detail to create and refine compelling marketing content. This role is vital for ensuring all communications are on-brand, clear, and error-free before they are published. You’ll be responsible for developing, writing, and editing content across multiple platforms to effectively communicate the company's brand message to its target audience. You must possess strong creative and editorial abilities, and be able to collaborate with marketing, design, and other teams to produce high-quality, impactful content.
What you’ll do
- Create and write content: Generate clear, compelling, and engaging copy for a wide range of marketing materials, such as websites, blog posts, email campaigns, social media, print ads, and video scripts.
- Edit and proofread: Meticulously edit and proofread all copy for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, and consistency, ensuring the highest editorial standards are met.
- Ensure brand voice: Develop and maintain a consistent brand voice, tone, and style across all communication channels and materials.
- Adhere to guidelines: Ensure all content adheres to company-specific and external style guides (e.g., AP or Chicago style).
- Conduct research: Perform thorough research to understand client needs, target audiences, and industry trends to inform and create relevant content.
- Leverage AI and refine prompts: Work with and continue to refine AI prompts to produce content that you will then edit and refine.
- Optimize for SEO: Apply search engine optimization (SEO) principles to maximize the reach and impact of web content.
- Collaborate with teams: Work closely with marketing managers, designers, and other stakeholders throughout the creative lifecycle, from initial concept to final product delivery.

- Adaptability: Ability to adapt writing style and tone to suit different platforms, audiences, and formats.
- Research skills: Strong research abilities to gather information and ensure factual accuracy in content.
- SEO knowledge: Understanding of SEO principles and content optimization.
- Software proficiency: Experience with content management systems (CMS) and other relevant digital marketing tools.
- Educational background: A bachelor's degree in English, journalism, marketing, or a related field is often required.
- Experience: Proven experience as a copywriter, editor, or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative and persuasive writing skills.
- Experience in a marketing or agency environment is often preferred
For Chicago, the estimated rate for this position is between $ 34 and $44 per hour. For New York City, the estimated rate this position is between $ 38 and $49 per hour. The rates for the position in other geographies may vary based on market differences. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
