As a member of the Brand Maker Studio team, you will be instrumental in building our brands, and crafting best-in-class marketing materials for a wide range of audiences that help celebrate our latest products, features and company developments.

We’re looking for a Principal Copywriter to join Brand Maker Studio at Snap Inc.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Ideate, pitch, and execute conceptual brand ideas across all mediums inclusive of ways to communicate new products, features and company developments to the world.
  • Identify outstanding ideas and shape them through clear and concise feedback.
  • Lead the development and execution of high priority projects from concept through production and delivery.
  • Lead a diverse mix of internal and external partners to create best-in-class advertising and marketing campaigns across a wide range of verticals, disciplines and markets.
  • Proactively navigate a complicated cross-functional marketing organization.
  • Stay up-to-date on the competitive landscape and new technologies to keep Snap’s work innovative and relevant.
  • Craft strong copy solutions that efficiently and accurately represent new products, features, and company developments to the world.
  • Be responsible for the craft, execution, and elevating the quality of a range of copywriting projects.
  • Utilize Snap’s  creative tools to create and modify existing and new content for cross-channel usage.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • A deep understanding of popular and internet culture, behaviors and trends.
  • Knowledge of the culture that impacts marketing across key channels.
  • Ability to build honest, direct relationships with cross-functional colleagues and outside partners.
  • Ability to debate constructively and ask challenging questions.
  • Solid initiative, attention to detail and follow-through skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
  • A willingness to experiment with best practices to find new and more effective tools for audience discovery and engagement.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once and diligent attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 12+  years experience as a hands-on creative with demonstrable experience working as a copywriter (in-house, freelance or agency).
  • 2+  years experience in a creative leadership role.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of successful campaigns and innovative, high-impact projects.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Creative agency or brand marketing experience preferred.
  • History of being a personal Snapchat user is a plus.
  • Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite.

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
